POLITICAL AND SOCIAL RESEARCH IMPLEMENTATION AND RESEARCH CENTER REGULATION


CHAPTER FIRST

Purpose, Scope, Basis and Definitions

 
Aim
 
ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation; To regulate the procedures and principles regarding the aims, fields of activity, organs, duties of the organs and the way of working of the Istanbul Gelisim University Political and Social Research Application and Research Center.
 
Scope
 
ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation; It covers the provisions regarding the aims, fields of activity, organs, duties of the organs and the way of working of the Istanbul Gelisim University Political and Social Research Application and Research Center.
 
Rest
 
ARTICLE 3 – (1) This Regulation; It has been prepared based on the sub-clause (2) of the first paragraph of the 7th article of the Higher Education Law dated 4/11/1981 and numbered 2547 and the article 14.
 
Definitions
 
ARTICLE 4 – (1) In this Regulation;
 
a) Advisory Board: Advisory Board of the Center,
 
b) IGU: Istanbul Gelisim University,
 
c) Center: Istanbul Gelisim University Political and Social Research Application and Research Center,
 
ç) Center Manager: The Manager of the Center,
 
d) Rector: Rector of Istanbul Gelişim University,
 
e) Board of Directors: The Board of Directors of the Center,
 
means.
 

CHAPTER SECOND

The Center's Purpose and Fields of Activity

The purpose of the center

 
ARTICLE 5 – (1) The purpose of the centre; To provide the necessary academic support for the efficient implementation and execution of political and social concepts and processes and to increase the social benefit to be provided.
 
Areas of activity of the center
 
ARTICLE 6 – (1) The Center carries out the following activities within the framework of the purposes specified in Article 5 of this Regulation:
 
a) To organize courses, national and international conferences, seminars, congresses and symposiums in order to provide information exchange by bringing together public and private sector institutions and organizations related to political and social phenomena and issues.
 
b) To carry out academic and social studies on political and social issues.
 
c) To carry out research, examination, feasibility and similar studies for the solution of the problems faced by the public and private sectors in line with the demand.
 
ç) To give scientific opinion on political and social issues, to prepare reports, to develop national and international projects and to conduct research.
 
d) To establish working groups consisting of members of the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations in order to carry out their work and to support their work.
 
e) To provide students in undergraduate and graduate programs that fall within the study area of the center, to apply and practice what they have learned.
 
f) To carry out other studies in line with the purpose of the center.
 

CHAPTER THIRD

Organs and Duties of the Center

ARTICLE 7 – (1) The organs of the Center are as follows:
 
a) Center Manager.
 
b) Board of Directors.
 
c) Advisory Board.
 
Center Manager
 
ARTICLE 8 – (1) Director of the Center; He is appointed by the Rector from among the faculty members of the university for a period of three years. The Center Manager, whose term has expired, may be reassigned.
 
(2) The Director of the Center presents two people from among the University teaching staff to the approval of the Rector to be appointed as the Deputy Director of the Center. Deputy Center Managers perform the tasks assigned by the Center Manager.
 
Duties of the Center Manager
 
ARTICLE 9 – (1) The duties of the Center Director are as follows:
 
a) To represent the Central and to preside over the Board of Directors.
 
b) To implement the decisions of the Board of Directors.
 
c) To carry out the administrative works of the Center, to ensure the necessary coordination and control.
 
ç) To prepare the annual activity report for the previous year and present it to the Board of Directors.
 
Board of Directors
 
ARTICLE 10 – (1) Board of Directors; It consists of the Director of the Center, Deputy Director of the Center and five members to be appointed by the Rector from among the University faculty members related to the purpose of the Center.
 
(2) The term of office of the Board of Directors is three years. A member whose term has expired can be reassigned. A new member of the Board of Directors who resigns for any reason is appointed from the same unit and with the same method to complete the remaining term.
 
Duties of the Board of Directors
 
ARTICLE 11 – (1) The duties of the Board of Directors are as follows:
 
a) To review the activities of the Center, to take decisions on matters concerning the work area of the Center.
 
b) To determine the principles regarding the preparation of the activity report to be prepared by the Center Manager at the end of each activity period, to evaluate the report submitted to the Board of Directors.
 
c) To prepare the work program for the next semester.
 
ç) To determine the principles of cooperation, agreements and protocols to be made with domestic and foreign institutions.
 
d) To create project groups with the contribution of the Advisory Board for the execution of the activities of the Center.

ARTICLE 12 – (1) Advisory Board; Under the chairmanship of the Director, it consists of a maximum of ten people who have worked or are currently working on issues related to the purpose of the Center. Members of the Advisory Board are appointed for three years by the Rector upon the proposal of the Director. Members of the Advisory Board can be elected from outside and inside the University.
 
(2) Advisory Board, Board of Directors 
It convenes on a date determined by the Director when deemed necessary.
 
Duties of the Advisory Board
 
ARTICLE 13 – (1) The duties of the Advisory Board are as follows:
 
a) To give an opinion on the annual work plan prepared by the Board of Directors.
 
b) To make suggestions about the aims and fields of work of the Center on political and social facts and issues.
 
c) Evaluate the work carried out by the project groups.
 

CHAPTER FOUR

Final Provisions

ARTICLE 14 – (1) This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication.

ARTICLE 15 – (1) The provisions of this regulation are executed by the Rector of Istanbul Gelişim University.
