COVID-19 vaccine rollout ‘unacceptably slow’ in Europe, WHO warns
Europe is the world’s second most affected region by the novel coronavirus, measured both in terms of infection and mortality rates. However, the current rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine does in no way match the recent spread rate of the virus. Urgent measures need to be taken both in terms of speeding up the manufacturing and delivering process of the vaccines, and in terms of increasing public health measures to compensate for the vaccine delays. Lastly, European countries are also expected to show more transborder solidarity in administering the vaccination process.
