International Symposium on the Countries of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea Basins Held at IGU

Hosted by Istanbul Gelişim University/IGUSAM and organized in collaboration with Istanbul Beykent University, the International Symposium on the Countries of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea Basins brought regional cooperation, energy policies, and the future of the Turkic world to the forefront. The opening remarks were delivered by Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Istanbul Gelişim University; Prof. Dr. Necmettin Maraşlı, Vice Rector of Istanbul Gelişim University; and Prof. Dr. Volkan Öngel, Rector of Istanbul Beykent University.

The International Symposium on the Black Sea and Caspian Basin Countries made significant contributions to the regional vision by opening up critical topics—such as energy security, geopolitical balances, cultural interaction, economic development, and international cooperation—for academic discussion. By bringing together leading academics and strategic actors in the field, the symposium served as a vital platform that further strengthened Turkey’s role as a regional unifier.
