‘The Erosion or Transformation of American Hegemony?’ was held.
At this event, organised by our department, the operations carried out by the US—particularly in the last few years—Donald Trump’s rhetoric, which has shattered the tradition of diplomacy, and, in particular, the hegemonic power it wields in the context of the Iran War were discussed. The focus was on the question of whether the policy pursued by the US in this highly sensitive and tense international arena is eroding or transforming the hegemonic power it holds.
The panel, moderated by Dr Ali Semin, a Middle East expert and founder of the “Centre for Middle East, Eurasia and Asia-Pacific Studies” (ODAP), featured Retired Ambassador Uluç Özülker and Ahmet Özal, an Independent Member of Parliament in the 21st Term, as speakers.
