“The Geopolitical Reflections of the USA-Israel-Iran War on the Middle East” was held
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Gelişim University, in collaboration with İGÜSAM and ODAP (Centre for Middle East, Eurasia and Asia-Pacific Studies) organised an event entitled ‘The Geopolitical Implications of the US-Israel-Iran War for the Middle East’, at which Dr Ali Semin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, delivered a presentation.
The event focused on the changing regional dynamics following the military attack launched by the US and Israel against Iran on 28 February 2026. The crises within the leadership in Tehran, the oil crisis in the Strait of Hormuz and the escalating conflict fuelled by Iran’s retaliatory actions across the region were discussed at the event.
